For the courageous campers of the Occupy Movement

XENON LAMP

This earth is what
We occupy
The struggle material
The real suffering felt
With rain now drizzling
On our wilting tents
As cold wind sweeps in
To clear our camp

Thoughts of what is fair
Have left
As the nip of winter
Hurts our shared hope
Our shivering unity
Muddied and wet
The public ache of our plight
Chased into cyber space

This fabric we wear
Our ethic
Rough and worn
The daily stitch of work
Which fashions our faith
Will remain – will not fail
Tear down our tents – try!
Ever still – we will occupy
